  1. Review books by spread, animate FamilySearch portraits

    • Improved

Ancestor Book editor shows real two-page spreads

The couple preview now matches the printed book: portrait plate facing biography, photo albums two to a sheet. Navigation reads “Spread 3 of 8” and the sidebar thumbnails are laid out as spreads.

    • New

Mark each couple ready for print

An explicit “This couple is ready for print” checkbox replaces the old behavior where moving to the next couple quietly marked it done. Reviewed couples show a green check on the book overview.

    • New

Enhance and animate FamilySearch profile portraits

Ancestors whose only picture is their FamilySearch profile portrait can now be enhanced or animated. Small portraits are upscaled automatically before processing.

    • Improved

      More natural photo animation

Reworked the animation style for gentler head motion and far fewer blinks.

    • New

Guide: why a deceased relative shows as living on FamilySearch

Explains the private-copy-never-merged case and how to fix it. Linked from the editors wherever dates or photos are missing.

    • Improved

Couples are labeled with a surname

“Warren & Barbara Davis” instead of “Warren & Barbara”, so repeated first names across generations stay distinguishable.

    • New

      Remove photos from individual-page galleries

The photo editor now offers a Remove action on gallery pages.

    • Fixed

“Used elsewhere” photo badges respect crops

Cropping a group photo to one person no longer marks the other person’s crop as already used.

    • Fixed

Book preview no longer jumps back to page one

Selecting a portrait plate while photos were still loading used to reset the selection every few seconds.

    • Fixed

Friendlier messages when photo enhancement fails

You now see a plain retry message instead of a raw provider error.

    • Fixed

New book builds start promptly after a failed one

  2. Buy first, design later

    • New

Buy any book or chart as credit before designing it

Every product can be purchased up front (or as a gift) and redeemed later in the editor. Buyers pay tax at purchase, so redemption is free.

    • New

      Branded order and account emails

    • Improved

More reliable FamilySearch imports for large trees

Imports that failed part way can be restarted, and a book no longer goes live until every person has been saved.

    • Fixed

      Sign-in reliability fixes

  3. Direct checkout and a rebuilt chart editor

    • Improved

      One-step checkout

Carts are gone. Every product goes straight from the editor to payment.

    • Improved

      Rebuilt wall chart editor

Fan, pedigree, and descendancy charts share one editor with live previews and print-accurate fonts.

    • New

      Store credit and gifting
